Based on the Open Innovation Approach end-users are involved in the development of innovative apps from early stage on and hence have the chance to actively contribute to the style and functions of mobile apps.

The Austrian Lotteries are planning to introduce a mobile App which supports clients before, during and after participating in lottery games at stationary reception facilities (e.g. tobacco stores).

In order to include end-users in the development of this specific app from an early stage ideas are being generated within the Mobile Living Lab, an Open Innovation platform operated by evolaris. Users have the possibility to create und illustrate ideas and in a second step score the ideas of other “challenge” participants. This procedure enables broad participation on the one hand and a dynamic development process on the other hand.

In the course of the submission phase overall 83 creative ideas were created within the Mobile Living Lab. In the so-called “battles”, which are currently ongoing, all the ideas are being rated by the whole Living Lab Community. Attractive prizes await the winners, such as one year Lotto for free.

The inclusion of users and clients within the innovation process is a major focus of evolaris’ research- and development programme. With the Mobile Living Lab customer integration is a crucial element in all phases of developing mobile services and technologies.
