Follow-up: Austrian M2M & Mobile Payment Forum
The annual forum for the Internet of Things, Mobile Payment and Industry 4.0 took place on May 20 at the event location “The Stage” in Vienna.
The Internet of Things is entering more and more areas of human life ranging from smart city and smart health applications via mobile payment up to industry 4.0. There is hardly any field that is not affected by the new possibilities based on the Internet of Things.
In the course of the event around 200 participants and representatives from renowned companies for instance T-Mobile, A1, AIT and many others discussed revolutionary developments in machine-to-machine communication focussing on Industry 4.0 and mobile payment.
evolaris CEO and scientific director Christian Kittl spoke about “wearables and innovative interaction concepts for the industry 4.0” on stage and presented smart glass solutions e.g. a Google Glass application which was developed by evolaris to support service staff in performing maintenance tasks. Afterwards visitors hat the chance to test specific augmented reality and smart glass solutions themselves.
The final keynote was held by Dr. Gernot Grömer, CEO of the Austrian Space Forum, pointing out challenging requirements ICT systems are facing in regard of the upcoming journey to Mars.
All in all the M2M Forum was a highly successful event with constructive contributions, space for sharing inspiring ideas and a visionary outlook to a connected world.
